Americans Abroad

Qualifying at des Nations kept the crew more than busy today, but we had a blast doing our job. The weather was, yet again, quite nice and the track was fun to shoot. Swap had the video rolling and Lutes and I shot stills while the American team reminded the rest of the world just how fast they really are. RV and Bubba dominated, while Ferry conducted a signature battle through the pack after a crappy start. Good times.
Team USA, however, weren’t the only ones making an impression. I must say, Zach Osborne surprised the hell out of me. After starting in 11th place, Osborne zigged and zagged through the rest of the Open class in route to an exciting pass on Michael Byrne on the finish line jump. He came in hot on Byrner in the final laps, and he didn’t leave any room for Byrner to breathe. He followed him into deep ruts and bumped his tire, just so he knew he was there. He was tenacious. It was a great final lap on a fun day.
