Race Day

I love coming to Europe because of the subtleties. I love that the track nearly shuts down for lunch. No, it isn’t a quick hot dog or nasty boat of nachos with fake cheese from the concession stand. All of the pits have a full setup and they treat their lunch like it should be treated: ritual. Even the concessions here (I use the term loosely) have a European restaurant appeal. Granted, the food isn’t five-star, but these things are parked at a track in the middle of nowhere.
Here at the Italian GP, there is always wine available in the press room, as well as in the Red Bull hospitality (which is much like a club). There are other hospitality rigs as well, but these stand out. There is a restaurant that is part of the Youthstream infrastructure that goes to each round as well. It is called Ristorante Italiano, I think. I ate there at Lommel for the GP of Belgium last year, but I’ve been pretty pinned this trip and haven’t made it over. I would compare it to the Parts Unimited tent at Supercross, but with more of a restaurant feel.
It has started to rain since I began this little blog. Booo! I am going to go assess the damage.

Finally got the flip video to play, as well as the commercial video. The mud was insane . . . those guys were practically swimming.
